I've been on set for about 12 hours now I haven't really done anything yet. It sucks. I walk around talking to everyone in 5 minute intervals and about every half hour I walk on set just to make sure they don't need anything. Today has been pretty much dramatic close ups where they only need one camera, and I only work when they need two cameras. One reason I make sure to visit set every thirty minutes is simply so people know I'm not sleeping.
Conversations with stuntmen are unlike conversations with normal people.
I now know how boring it is for people to visit sets. I've never really had a job on set before where I'm not working the whole time. I feel bad for all the times I've had friends visit me on set.
So I decided that I will start hosting Joe Frank episodes on my site. It will eat up my bandwidth severely but I think it'll be worth it to make the episodes available. I have a bunch of episodes that would be hard to find anywhere else. Since I run the hotline site people have sent me episodes that can be pretty hard to find. I'll work on getting the episodes up after the shoot is done. I still need to figure out how I want to do it.
I really want to do some travelling again some time soon. Like just go all around Europe or something. I may just do a road trip type thing however. I want to go to Louisiana sometime. I feel weird that I've seen other continents but I haven't seen most of America. I want to see the south some time. I would love to canoe on the Mississippi River some time.
The excitement of the day was going out to lunch. Even thought they feed us on set today Josh, Niki and I all went to McDonalds. It just really felt great for all of us to get off the set for a while. 39 cent cheeseburgers can't be beat.
Last Saturday night after we finished shooting around 10:00 on the way home something really funny happened. I was driving home on Santa Monica Blvd. and I saw all these people outside having fun. I realized that during these three weeks of shooting I basically forgot about the rest of the world. I really was amazed to see all of these people. I really did forget about the world. It felt sort of sad that for the last three weeks my entire life was this movie.
Right now I'm in the camera room, and one of the PA's, Jeff, who isn't feeling very well is laying on the bed that Bill made. I'm playing him a Joe Frank episode now. He seems to really like it.
Brian the director just came in. I may be doing a shot soon. Woo hoo.
I just made my visit to set. While I was gone the Joe Frank episode ended and Jeff fell asleep.
I'm not going to know what to do with myself when this movie is done. We'll do a few days of pickups but I'm really going to miss being on set. I think when this is done I'll work on getting my reel done, and then I just gotta bust my ass to try to get on another show. I have a job that may happen in March and if it happens it will be the best thing that could possibly happen to me, but I can't get into it really.
I just did my half hour walk. All is well, and I am not needed. Dinner is served soon but I'm not hungry. Still full from McDonalds. I think we'll be going home in about 2 hours.
