The bastards!
The freakin Hong Kong airport confiscated my gifts to my friends. I got everyone chairman mao lighters, they play the chinese anthem when you light it up. Turns out they have a rule of one lighter per passenger. But, they did give me a recept for them. That means I can pick them up from the hong kong airport anytime within 7 days. When I mentioned that I am leaving china he re-assured me that they would allow up to 10 days. His english was pretty bad, and when I asked to speak with someone else about it, he didn't like that. The other person who came did nothing but smiled and handed me my bags. I took my bags and left. As much as I liked the lighters it seems like the Hong Kong security at the airport and the sort of people who could make my life difficult if they wanted it. It didn't seem worth it, sorry everything.
So the plane rides were all uneventful, I'm on the way to LA now, and looking forward to getting back. It's going to be somewhat of a culture shock to be back in LA I think. And I know that I'm going to have jetlag pretty bad.
It's funny to watch movies on airplanes. I saw about 5 of them I think, for the life of me I can't remember what all of them were.
It's going to be very comforting to be in my apartment again. And Angela and I are going to pinks tonight. I really do miss being in china, I know I will be going their again. But it's nice to be heading home.
