So this will be my last update before going to China. I'm pretty much all packed and at the point where I am merely roaming around my house looking at everything and thinking to myself, "Do I need that? Do I need that?" It's great to put everything you need in a big backpack and realize that everything you put in that bag will be all that you have, and you will be carrying it all for 2 weeks. Also, that will make buying presents difficult because I'll have to carry those around as well.
I just found out my friend Chris K. will be heading back to Rochester. He was one of my best friends up here and I hate to see him leave. He never really cared for LA much however. He just quit he job because he didn't like how things were over their anymore, so now he has no need to stay in LA. We had a goodbye dinner with him at Canters the other night.
I got a haircut today at Supercuts. My haircut is fine but it was funny to be there because each of the "stylists" their was just way to into himself/herself. One was saying to woman whose hair he was cutting "each hair has it's own place that it wants to be." She wasn't buying it which made it even better.
So today I started making all of the goodbye calls, I will make more of them tomorrow. While trying to finalize my packing and while trying spending time with Angela. I talked to my Aunt Sheli today. She told me about her trip to Hong Kong. She was their in 1955. I had no idea. She told me some cool places to go to that sound very interesting. The coolest thing she told me about is what the streets in Hong Kong sound like. I don't want to get into that now however. I'll leave descriptions for when I get back.
I met up with my friend Josh S. for dinner at Norms tonight. He just got back from his 5 year college reunion. He has been gone for almost two weeks, and now I'm going to be gone for 2 weeks so tonight was our only time to see each other for about a month. The restaurant was decent (I like Canters a lot more.) But it was pretty average for a diner type place. I got liver which for some reason always disgusts people. What makes liver grosser then other parts of animal to people?
Wednesday night will be my first time ever New York City. I'm staying with Aaron's sister. I have no idea what I'll be doing their (big surprise) but I'm just going to like being about to walk around the city. Hopefully I'll be somewhere safe where I can do that. I feel like some little country kid about to see the big city for the first time.
I need to cut this short. It's getting late and I need to get some rest. I wish the best to all my friends and family while I'm away.
love,
Marc
